I am a licensed clinical social worker since 1999 in the State of Georgia and have maintained a private psychotherapy, supervision and consultation practice for over 19 years in the Virginia Highlands area of Atlanta, Georgia.
I see individuals and couples for short or long term psychotherapy. During the consultation and assessment phase we will meet and discuss what is bringing you in, your goals for therapy, and work together to work out a plan to move forward.
I have experience and training in many different modalities and areas of psychotherapy. Using these different influences along with your goals for therapy, we will begin to move forward.
My areas of expertise are addiction/recovery/relapse, PTSD, trauma and dissociation, and attachment related work with individuals and couples.
With many clients I also use mindfulness, meditation and yoga based education and techniques to help people learn to deal with stress related to daily life, relationships, recovery, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues.
In addition to over 19 years of training and experience in the practice of psychotherapy, I also believe in the use of respectful humor and laughter as two of the most wonderful and connecting aspects of life, and especially helpful in navigating some of the difficult passages we face along the way.
